Tainted Hearts

Tainted Hearts.

A heart filled with ambition and dreams once lived in me.
A heart with no remorse, no limits, no navigator.
A heart ready to take on the world with all its got.
Yet slowly but surely,
 one strike after another,
one thief disguised with a crooked smile after another,
this heart is robbed of its purity and wholesome bravery.

Take it down once and it'll stand back up again,
Take it down twice, three times, four -- it's ready for more.
After they've taken all they can, the thieves continue along their crooked paths
And just like that, the heart is thrown away. The heart is left alone
 filled with fear,
emptiness
and sadness

A heart ready to give and had everything taken away.

Now with anything it has left of itself, the heart must strengthen,
                                                                            it must recollect its thoughts
the heart must continue forward and fuel itself
with an armor of gold so brilliant it scares away
                                                                                  any boastful thief.

An armor of gold so brilliant it reflects the brilliance and beauty of its owner.
For as you can see, the more valuable and beautiful the heart, the stronger and                                       more protection it needs from the massacre of predators.
